The challenge
Localised prostate cancer can be treated in several ways, and each option affects daily life differently. In a project funded by the Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC), the Hospital del Mar Research Institute wanted a tool that helps every patient understand the options and weigh them against their own priorities, while the research team follows their answers.
The solution
A patient app and a portal for the clinical and research team. Patients answer questionnaires, complete their clinical profile and compare treatments side by side; they can also invite a companion and choose what that person sees. From the portal, the team manages patients, content and questionnaires, and exports pseudonymised data.
