Apps for clinical studies and patient follow-up

We design and build the apps and portals research teams use to collect data from participants and support patients. We have done it for the Hospital del Mar Research Institute and for the Hôpital Robert-Debré in Paris, with the same small, senior team from the first sketch to maintenance.

What we do

Everything included

  • Questionnaires people actually answer

Follow-up questionnaires designed so that answering is never a chore: as a conversation or one question per screen, with messages that keep people taking part.

  • Consent and participant access

Informed consent is given inside the app, and each participant signs in with the code the team provides, which applies their own settings.

  • A portal for the research team

A web dashboard to manage patients, content and questionnaires, and export the data for analysis.

  • EU-hosted, pseudonymised data

We host the data on servers in the EU, each app collects only what the study needs, and exports come out pseudonymised.

  • Clear information for patients

Comparison tools, guides, glossaries and PDF reports so patients understand their options and discuss them with their medical team.

  • Offline and multilingual

Questionnaires that can be answered without coverage, and apps in Catalan, Spanish, English or French.

How we work

From the first sketch to people's hands

  1. We start from the study

A call with the research team to understand the protocol, the participants and the data to collect.

  2. Proposal and prototype

Scope, timeline and budget; then a prototype of the key screens to validate with the team.

  3. Development and testing

Short iterations with test builds the project team can install from day one.

  4. Launch and follow-up

Publication on the stores and maintenance for as long as the study runs.

FAQ

What people ask us most

Have you built apps for studies with patients?

Yes. For the Hospital del Mar Research Institute we built Cohorte ARCA, the monthly follow-up of a cohort of children and teenagers with asthma, and Your Decision, a shared decision-making tool for prostate cancer, in a project funded by the AECC. For the Hôpital Robert-Debré (AP-HP), we built D2M, a diet calculator for inherited metabolic disorders.

How is participant data protected?

Data is hosted on servers in the EU. Each participant signs in with their own code, the app collects only what the study needs, and data is exported pseudonymised.

Can you help with the ethics committee?

Yes. We prepare the technical documentation on the app and the data processing that the research team has to submit to the research ethics committee.

Who manages the questionnaires and content?

The project team, from a web portal: they register patients, edit content and questionnaires and export the data, without depending on us for every change.

Does the app work offline?

Yes. Questionnaires can be answered without coverage and are sent when the phone is back online.

How much does it cost and how long does it take?

It depends on the scope: how many questionnaires, whether the team needs a portal and which integrations. After a 30-minute call we send you a proposal with scope, timeline and budget, with no small print.
